On June 3, 2011, patriotic Americans (Rolling Thunder and Patriot Guard Riders) honored, stood for, and escorted Gunnery Sergeant (Retired) William McLawhon.

GySgt McLawhon served three tours in Vietnam and received three Purple Hearts. He also was awarded the Bronze Star with V device. For those who do not know, the “V Device” (V is for Valor) is authorized when the Bronze Star is awarded for heroism in combat.

God Bless GySgt McLawhon, his family, those serving now, those who served, and our allies.

We were honored to meet his family, who asked us to take pictures for them.
