On 13 Oct 2012, Patriotic Americans gathered in Raeford, NC to honor, respect and remember SSG Donna Johnson.
SSG Johnson was assigned to the 514th Military Police Company, which is based in Winterville, NC. She joined the North Carolina National Guard in August 2006 and was deployed to Iraq in 2007.
She was among three soldiers killed that day in Khost, Afghanistan, after an insurgent detonated a suicide vest while the guardsmen were on patrol. The bomber struck about 9 a.m., shortly after the troops got out of their vehicles to walk through a market area in Khost, located in the eastern part of the country.
The bandana I wore to the funeral was given to SSG Johnson's mother. Regretfully, my bandana had the date as 2 October 2012, not 1 October 2012. We sincerely apologize for the typing error, and we hope the family understand that our hearts were in the right place.
God bless our Fallen Heroes, their Gold Star Families, and their friends.

We respect the privacy of the family and we make every effort to not photograph them during this difficult time. and we make every effort not to photograph a Fallen Hero's casket.
If an ad appears with my video, I do NOT receive any money from those ads. YouTube/Google is probably associating ads with videos to generate revenue in exchange for our free use of YouTube.
You will sometimes see reference to Gold Star Mothers and Blue Star Mothers in my videos and Facebook posts. If any of my friends do not know what this is, that's perfectly OK.
A Gold Star Mother lost a child in the service of our country; this group was established shortly after World War I.
A Blue Star Mother now has, or has had, children honorably serving in the military; this group was established during World War II.
