On October 1, 2009, Staff Sergeant Cory Remsburg (a US Army Ranger) and 7 fellow soldiers were wounded in Afghanistan by an improvised explosive device (IED).
Cory has been recovering from a traumatic brain injury at James Haley Veteran's Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Cory was granted leave to visit his home in Princeton, North Carolina.
